Scenic cruise in Joensuu on s/s Paul Wahl 2024
The s/s Paul Wahl, renovated in 2020, is a unique steamship on Lake Saimaa with luxury suites and shared spaces. The ship was built in Varkaus in 1919 at the famous A. Ahlström shipyard. The design of the ship clearly shows improvement from early 20th-century vessels. Thanks to the shape of the hull, the Paul Wahl is one of the fastest inland water steamships. The engine also has better efficiency than earlier steam engines.
The ship’s interiors are spacious and easy to navigate. Large windows provide good visibility from the lounges.
